Samsung is the only smartphone manufacturer that initiated the hefty and expensive idea of curved edge screens. Initially, it was considered the bolt from the blue as lesser audience was considered to pay extra $100 for the edge phones. However, the idea seems to pick up later on and people actually started liking the design and body of this handset. The first single edge handset was Note Edge but later on Sammy shifted this additional game to its S series and introduced Galaxy S6 edge, which has a dual curved edge display.

This idea clicked more than the tradition S series phones. The S6 edge witnessed more sales even though it was considered unnecessarily expensive with a fragile dual curved edges which could get scratched if hit hard. However, a significant development is that two renowned smartphone manufacturers are also counting upon this display design. Huawei and Xiaomi are working on phones that will have curved edges. There were no details on how and when it will happen but the rumors have been taken from the lump of salt.

Xiaomi will name its Edge device Mi Edge or Mi Note Edge. The company has signed a contract with LG to supply curved edge displays. This won’t be a surprise because LG has already showcased its curved edge technology in CES 2016, though it is not being used for its current and upcoming phones as per speculations. Huawei curved edge will likely to be dubbed Huawei Edge Mate Huawei will be buying the curved edge display from the tech giant Samsung.

Both devices will unveil in September during IFA as per rumors. This means Xiaomi and Huawei will launch its flagship offering twice a year just as what Sammy does. As nothing has been officially confirmed,  take everything as a pinch of salt.
