Xiaomi basically believes in affordable handsets but currently it is looking to manufacture more high-end and high priced offering.  It is reported that a $600 handset is in works that will be out anytime soon. The news come from none other but the co-founder of the company Liwan Jiang. You should not worry as this does not mean the end of low-priced offering.

The $600 is, undoubtedly, the double of what the base model of Xiaomi Mi 5 is priced at. Currently, Xioami’s every handset is priced at a very reasonable range with amazing specs. An offering like this means exploring a new category that has not been introduced for certain segment. Xioami is pushing to sell beyond China and this can be a good strategy to start with.

Apart, a $600 handset means even a lot more than what Xiaomi offers in its affordable offerings. Currently there are no speculations on specs. As soon as they leak, we will get the chunk to let you bite it. Till then, stay tuned.
