Pakistan sets an example which makes India to introduce Aadhaar-based SIM card.

Using technology to track the growth of population is the one of the most effective way. Through this we can also keep record of existing population and security concerns. Pakistani Government has recently installed biometric system of SIM verification. It is PTA along with NADRA introduced the SIM verification to stop ever increasing security issues in Pakistan.

The Indian Government also plans to initiate Digital India project which is concerned with giving each mobile SIM card a UID, Unique Identity Number or Aadhaar. Gopal Krishna has said that establishing this system requires a lot of efforts while addressing on CFCL forum:

“Following the footprints of Pakistan, Government of India set up Unique Identification Authority (UIDAI) of India in January 2009 for biometric identification of Indian residents.”

He further added;

“With this new system in place, every mobile phone SIM card will be associated with its user’s identity as it appears in the national identity card database of the Election Commission.”
