PTA to block 25000 Anti-Pakistan Websites

National Assembly’s standing committee on IT has put forward it reservations over thousands of websites that are anti-Pakistani and being operated by terrorists’ organizations.They have notifiedPakistan Telecommunication Authority to take immediate steps to block these websites.

Tahir Iqbal, who was chairing the meeting, said that about 25,000 websites are operated by such illicit organizations and are accessible.Dr. Ismail Shah, Chairman PTA, while briefing the committee cleared that a High Court order is necessary to bring in the action.

He said that there has been no complaint registered to far regarding the content of website or its motives. However, if the matter is scrutinized properly by High Court and websites are asked to banned, PTA will consider the reservations and will block the websites immediately.  AzmatRanjha, Secretary IT, expressed that law enforcement agencies have been asked to formresearch wings for sharing the information of terrorist websites with PTA.

Chairman of IT standing committee again stressed that matter should be handled by PTA on priority basis. It is now expected that PTA might work on it as soon as possible. If anyone who has information on any terror website or Facebook page can contact PTA to report it.
