How to root Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016)

There are different ways to root your Android phone. In some cases you require a system and in some cases you do not.

In this case we will use the system. Samsung Galaxy A5 is running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Make sure to install the custom recovery like ClockworkMod or TWRP recovery in your mobile

How to root Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016)

Note: This method will void the manufacturer’s warranty and you might permanently damage your device. In case of any damage mobile phone collection will not be held responsible in anyways. You may proceed at your own risk

Steps:

 

1- Back up

 First of all back up your data in case you ruin your device or you lose your data. For this you can

1- Move data to your system

2- You can use Samsung Kies to back up data

 

 

  1. Download USB drivers for PC

Download the USB drivers in your system and then connect the phone with a data cable.

Either

  • Download Samsung USB Drivers (http://www.devfiles.co/download/AbRa7wHc/SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe)
  • Download Samsung KIES (http://www.samsung.com/in/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/) (KIES has the drivers as well)

 

 

  1. Enable USB debugging mode on your phone

 

To enable the USB debugging mode, follow these steps.

  • Go to Settings
  • Scroll down and find ‘Developer Options’. Tap there
  • Enable USB debugging and OEM Unlocking option

The Developer Options is not visible by default. If you can’t see the Developer Options, make it visible by following these steps.

 

  • Go to Settings
  • Scroll down till you see “About Device”. Tap there
  • Tap on Build Number for 5-7 times to make the Developer Options visible
  • Now follow the aforementioned steps to enable USB debugging and OEM Unlocking

 

 

  1. Download the root package for your smartphone

For this download the root package from SuperSU Root file for flashing

 

You download the file to your PC and without unzipping, move it to the SD Card root area. Then disconnect your smartphone from the system

 

 

  1. Open your smartphone in Recovery mode

You can boot your smartphone into the Recovery mode through these steps.

 

  • Switch off your smartphone.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up and Power Button simultaneously.

 

 

  1. Process to do on your mobile

When you are on the recovery mode flash the zip file in your SD card

 

  • Scroll down using volume buttons to “flash zip from SD card”.
  • Press the Power button to select it.
  • Press the Power button again to select “choose zip from SD card”.
  • Using volume keys again, navigate to the BETA-SuperSU-v2.52.zip file that you have stored in earlier step.
  • Select it using the Power button.
  • Now confirm the installation on the next screen.

When you confirm the installation the installation would start automatically. Now navigate to the recovery menu and reboot your phone by selecting “reboot system now” and your device will reboot itself into the rooted version.  To confirm if your device is rooted or not check if SuperSU is present in the application drawer. If you find it then it means everything worked fine.
