BSNL market share has increased from 9.05% to 9.35%.

Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha said that since last year, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is a Government operated telecom operator in India. BSNL has increased its market share by 0.30 percent since last year, Manoj Sinha the Telecom Minister said today. Last year BSNL has a Market share of 9.05 percent and this year it has increased to 9.35 percent.

BSNL market share has increased from 9.05% to 9.35%.

The Government is dedicated to facilitate rural distant areas with internet connectivity as well and reduce the digital gap, further said by him. At BSNL event the minister said, “The utilization of data from the first quarter has increased almost 60 percent to the second quarter, and in the third quarter it finally increased by 3.5 times the usage of the second quarter”.

At the same time, Government operated telecom operator BSNL has to set up 25,000 Wi-Fi hotspots in its rural exchanges within next four months, by signing a Memorandum of Understandings (MOU) with the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF). The MOU was signed before the Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha. It is said by BSNL that the 25,000 Wi-Fi hotspots shall be funded from the USO Fund, with the full capital expenditure and operational expenditure (OPEX) provided by the Government. This project requires almost Rs. 940 crore to become operational. In this project, initially one Wi-Fi Access Point shall be placed in each rural exchange. So, it seems that it is necessary and on the completion of the project, the digital divide in the rural areas will be finished.
