John Chen officially confirms BlackBerry Priv.

BlackBerry is just close to finally make officially its very-rumored Android-based BlackBerry handset now dubbed BlackBerry Priv, and new name has been formally confirmed.

While delivering the reports of Quarter 2, CEO John Chen confirmed the name Priv and said that handset “combines the best of BlackBerry security and productivity with the expansive mobile application ecosystem available on the Android platform.

” This BlackBerry would be most secure for the privacy of the user which is directly the reflection of name – Priv – meaning private or privacy.

In BlackBerry terms, it will be a “flagship slider device”, which will not only cater to general market but also target enterprise users as it offers high security and privacy which is mandatory for several data files. The device will launch in major markets at the end of year and more details will be leaked later on.

Or now Priv is likely to bring a 4.5-inch touchscreen with a Qwerty slider. Furthermore, it is rumored to features an 18 MP rear camera, 5 MP front-facing camera, Qualcomm’s six-core Snapdragon 808 processor, and 3 GB of RAM.
