BlackBerry is the recent Berry Hype in the market. On side, its “being slider” has been much anticipated by the market and on the other its being secure with the World’s ubiquitous mobile OS platform Android is much awaited. The CEO John Chen also announced in June that BB would only run Android, if it would ensure stringent security for the handset users. Considering the open source nature of the OS, people are still wondering if such goals could be met properly.

BB just delivered all the concerns in a blog post explain how it is as secure as previous platform of BB phones. In the article titled: “How BB secures the Android platform” depicts how it still goes for privacy more than anything else.

In line with Chen’s previous sentiments, it appears that BB has really done work the way it has wanted. The heart of the effort lies in secure user experience which starts from Hardware Root of Trust. This entitles cryptographic keys into the hardware. Further the Priv includes Verified Boot and Secure Bootchain, which cooperatively testify every aspect of hardware and software to certify that nothing has been disproportionately reformed. Also a “hardened Linux kernel”, gives full-disk encryption when enabled by default.

The Priv is now selling with an all in one approach where the device has world-renowned security model with best ever treatment of Google’s Android. It has also been established that the smartphone is not targeting the general customer only, but most importantly the corporate and government entities that have long depended upon the BlackBerry name.

The blog post can be visited and read at the BB blog posts and especially worth checking out if the Priv is on your aim list.
