Galaxy Note 7 exploding fiasco has proved very threatening. With this two of Xiaomi phones have also been found exploded within same time frame. Recently, we have found heating issues with iPhone 7 as well. Overall the scenario has become very grim, and customers have been seriously seeking guidance to how to protect battery from overheating which if not protected can lead to exploding of phone.

How you can help your phone not to explode.

First of all it is important to know why batteries explode. In Note 7 case, it was a fundamental flaw in designing the phone with new slimmer Lithium-ion battery. However, in other cases battery usually explodes when it gets wounded, for instance, piercing, break etc. If it happens the battery can short circuit resulting in explosion.

Heat is the second issue which can cause fire. If the battery is charged and temperature rises beyond certain level, it experiences internal short circuit. It is not that battery is faulty but the cool down process is too slow that a “thermal runaway” can happen leading to chain reaction that exacerbates the condition and brings disaster.

Also the latest handsets with faster charging also damages the battery as it produces more heat. We can say that with new technology coming in batteries have more burden to bear now.

In order to avoid charging, use the charger that supports your phone or supplied by the manufacturer. Unplug once the phone charges and choose location that is environmental friendly. For instance, do not charge under the pillow. Remove case while charging, avoid direct sunlight and let the phone cool after doing heavy task.

These are the basics which will let you avoid explosion at minimal, but if the battery has manufacturing fault, it might explode even if you take above precautions.
