To improve transparency in the transactions happen every day via online on e-commerce sites, Dubai Economy has taken a good step forward. This initiative would certify e-commerce sites so that consumers buying from these sites could be protected from spams, announcement made on Tuesday.
To apply for the certification, companies working in the mainland of Dubai and also in the free zones can seek benefit from of the digital protection initiative.
Why there was a need of such a step? It would help in boosting the best practices possible all across the online ecommerce transactions and elevate confidence of consumers in retail purchasing digitally.
For now, the cash-based economy of Middle East region shows that the consumers have low level of trust level for transacting money online to make a purchase. Stats narrate that 58 percent of the annual transactions in UAE are made via cash.
