This has resulted in building up inventory in the retail channels. The consumers have ended up more in shipping mobiles than buying them. As per analyst this should result in “inventory correction” in fourth quarter. This will further lead to manufacturers slowing down shipments of smartphones to retail channels in order to keep inventories lean.

Digitimes have shown that Huawei is the top manufacturer of China followed by Oppo, Vivo, and Xioami respectively. Apple is fifth in the race. Apple is consistently losing share in the India as well, which is why it has already offered to sell refurbished handset in the market plus to open new retail stores.
