According to an anonymous but credible source, Android 8.0 is going to be announced today 21 August. Google has not made any such announcement yet though, so we can still call it just a rumor.

Although it still looks like Google is not going to launch its Android 8.0 Orellete today; however, pretty strong rumors suggest that Google might still be planning a surprise release by tying new Android’s launch with today’s solar eclipse.

There are less than 18 hours left in the official announcement, and yet a new rumor has suggested a completely different name for Android 8.0 version. As opposed to earlier reports, the latest version of Android would not be called ‘Oreo’; rather it would be named as ‘Orellete’. A credible yet anonymous source further claimed that Google will surpass earlier rumors and would hence not name the new version as Oreo.

This is so far certain for sure. Let us see whether Google releases Android 8.0 today or not, and whether it will be named Oreo or Orellete.
