Android 8.0 Oreo Goes Official

  MPC Team

As reported earlier, Google has launched the next iteration of Android, which is named as Android 8.0 Oreo despite all the odds. We also broke the rumors before that the new Android version could also be named ‘Orellete’ rather than ‘Oreo’. However, the name appeared just as expected.

‘Oreo’ was the most rumored name for upcoming Android OS, and Google has remained stuck to the original name. The code for this new OS will be uploaded by Google engineers to the Open Source Project today.

Google also expects that by the end of this year, several smartphone companies including HTC, Huawei, Kyocera, Samsung, HMD Global, Essential, Sony and many others will be upgrading their smartphone models to Android 8.0 Oreo.

Meanwhile, it has already been confirmed by Blackberry that KeyOne will get the Android 8.0 Oreo update; however, the time and date is still not confirmed for that.
