The Next Version of Google’s Android OS will be Called Android 8.1

It has only been a couple weeks since the release of Android 8.0 Oreo, and it has still not started supporting even a single smartphone including Pixel or Nexus. It is still not known what time it will take before the Oreo will start rolling out in different phones and tablets.

Even then, Google has teased people by asking which the next version of Android OS will be. By the way, it will be called Android 8.1. The latest iteration of beta Google app has basically revealed this teardown. However, this assertion has been outright rejected by the company internally using SDK for building this app.

In the meantime, Google will keep using Oreo and it would not be good if the company decides to switch from Oreo to a new Android this much early. This is because the company does not want to repeat what it did last year with Nougat 7.0 and 7.1.
