  Uzair Khan

Samsung for last two years has been predicted many times by multiple market researches of losing it top vendor market position worldwide. First Counterpoint, then Canalys and now Motorola is claiming to ship 10 million smartphones last quarter, which is a tremendous 118 % increase compared to 2013. Thereby, Motorola has predicted that Samsung might lose its position as top vendor just like Nokia and BlackBerry.

In an Interview with Forbes, Motorola COO Rick Osterloh said, “Every seven years, the person who’s been on top of the market has gone away,” adding that “we are going through one of those fascinating shifts where people are starting to realize that you don’t need to pay $600 for a top-tier phone to get a top-tier experience.”

Previously, the Lenovo-owned company had presence in only 10 countries while being owned by Google. Now it has entered 50 countries and still plans on 10 to 15 more countries this year.
