The recent report published by International Data Corporation and Strategy Analytics has stated the facts concerning overall global smartphone shipments in 2017. In this regard, the data has shown that in the Q4 of 2017 alone, Apple shipped the highest number of units, i.e. 77.3 million. However, when it comes to the full-year review, Samsung is on top with 317 million shipments of mobile phones worldwide.

Moreover, Xiaomi also remained impressive with its shipments almost doubling in the Q4 of 2017 as compared to the same period of 2016, i.e. 28.1 million as compared to 14.3 million, respectively.

Additionally, this holiday season also brought smiles in the eyes of four top mobile manufacturing companies who were earlier registering a steep decline in their sales and shipments. This period also was marked as the biggest annual fall in the history of smartphones shipments from 438 million shipments in the 4^th quarter of 2016 to 400 million in the same period of 2017.
