PTA officially allows the YouTube to make its website operational in Pakistan

YouTube has finally back in Pakistan. PTA has officially unblocked the website. YouTube was blocked in Pakistan three and a half years back and now it is reopening in Pakistan.The users all across Pakistan will be able to access the website within 24 hours. This development came after when the PTA told the Supreme Court that objectionable content can be removed with the localized version of the YouTube. PTA further elaborated that objectionable content has been removed from YouTube.

The official commented that:

“They have blocked the unwanted content which was the main point of contention and it has been solved”.

He further added:

“We acted as a messenger in this case. You do realize the sensitivity of the matter. So we did what government told us to do”.

A Google spokesperson also commented:

“We aim to provide an even more tailored YouTube experience by launching versions that are optimized for Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. We also hope that this will pave the way for the work of local creators, personalities, and musicians to shine on the world’s largest and most vibrant video community.”

Further adding,

“We continue to engage with industry, governments, and civil society groups globally to ensure the Internet remains open, safe, and secure.”

YouTube is the world’s largest online video sharing network with presence in over 88 countries with 76 languages.
