Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has postpone the auction for the Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) spectrum (3G/4G) till May 24, 2017.  They have done this after they got many requests from the telecom operators.PTA also announced to hold auction for NGMS spectrum in 16 May 2017 before.

Some of the senior PTA officials said that the telecom operators have shown keen interest in the spectrum and specially with Ufone.  Telecom operators need some time because the Board meetings are in the process and they will need approval for the participation in the auction

All of the current operators operating in Pakistan have approached to delay this auction i.e Telenor, Zong, Jazz and Ufone

PTA expects to generate above $295 million which is the base price. PTA has modified the Information Memorandum (IM)with the new timings and date for the auction of spectrum in the 1800 MHz rang
