Apple says selling refurbished phones in India can be highly likely.

If we consider buying patterns in India, more than 70 percent of handset are under $150. While, if we look at iPhones rates it ranges from $500 to $1000. So by selling refurbished handsets iPhone can work up on its market share in India.

As per Strategy Analytics, 149 million smartphones were sold in India which is 26% up from previous year. Moreover, India is on the verge to become the second largest smartphone market of the World after China. But this certainly does not mean that they have the power to purchase iPhone. The average income of a person in India is $1500, which means they cannot spend a chunk of it on purchasing a smartphone like iPhone only. Further, the new 4-inch mid-range iPhone SE is also close to $500.

For this reason Apple is burning the mid-night oil to get this application approved by Indian Ministry. The whole idea is to grab the market share of one of the largest and most lucrative markets in near future.
