Apple is back to its small screen tradition but not with a flagship offering pertaining high-end specs. This time the magic has been done with a mid-range offer. iPhone SE has come with mixed reviews. Some markets appreciated the way strong innards are packed in low-end body. On the other hand, it is also perceived as mistake by Apple. Most importantly the western markets did not welcome the idea and adopted rebel attitude. For them it is a mismatch of what the mid-range offering is and the price it offers. For them Apple lost its path midway.

The iPhone SE comes with iPhone 6s innards. The chipset, fingerprint ID and NFC for Apple Pay, all are the blessing of what the company has previously packed in its high-end flagship device. The company is performing well in Asia’s biggest market; China. The company has witnessed record pre-orders where some school folks are still fond of old small screen. May be iPhone just want to give a Flash Back to check audience response. The screen, however, is as strong and responsive as ever, and you will not lose control while scrolling and moving back and forth with phone immersed in the palm entirely.

As far as the specs are concerned, it 4-inch IPS LCD display with a pixel resolution of 640 x 1136. It runs on Apple A9 SoC with Dual-core 1.8 Ghz Twister and PowerVR GT7600 GPU for graphics. Further it has 2GB RAM and comes in 16 and 64 GB built-in storage. Camera-wise, it has 12 MP rear camera with True tone LED flash, phase detection auto focus, 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30fps, @60fps and @120fps video recording, 720p video recording @120fps and 240fps. The front facer is 1.2MP with HDR mode and 720p@30fps video recording.

Software-wise it is driven by Apple iOS 9. iPhone SE has a rather meek battery with capacity of 1624mAh, with power saving mode. Connectivity options include G LTE Cat.4 (150Mbps); Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac; Bluetooth 4.2; Lightning port; GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS; NFC (Apple Pay only). There are few disadvantages that iPhone SE has, it comes without 3D touch and micro SD Slot. Also, it does not have an FM radio and enhanced resistance to dust and water. Because of these, it is also considered priced a bit high. Meanwhile, it did make its mark in few markets but failed to make records globally.
