Apple once again leads the watch market, Xiaomi and Fitbit follow suit

  MPC Team

In the 3rd quarter of 2017, Apple has once again grabbed the first position in the wearable market. In Q1 this year too, the company had maintained its first position; however, in the Q2, Xiaomi and Fitbit had taken over the first and second positions, respectively.

These three companies are still on top with Apple on the first position and the other two following suit. Between July and September, Apple has shipped more than 3.9 million wearables around the world. Chasing that, Xiaomi has managed to make 3.6 million shipments around the world, whereas Fitbit has sold about 3.5 million units.

Alternatively, this would mean that Apple now holds more than 23% market share in wearables. Slightly lower than that is grabbed by Xiaomi, i.e. 21% and Fitbit has 20% share. With only 6% share, Huawei holds 4th position. And Samsung comes 5th with 5% share. So these last two brands are not likely going to pose any sort of threat to the top 3 brands any time soon.
