The minister of IT and Telecommunication has put great emphasis on e-commerce while talking to the Associated Press of Pakistan.“The IT ministry will continue supporting and facilitating e-commerce and e-payment gateway in Pakistan, “expressedAnusha Rahman at a meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for launching the e-payment gateway in Pakistan.
E-commerce being a major component of economic development is a vital element of national economic policies across the globe,” she elaborated.It was also mentioned that a proper gateway should be provided to this e-economy to work.“For successful establishment of an e-commerce gateway, a comprehensive e-commerce policy, comprising guidelines, rules and regulations along with dispute resolution and remedial mechanism for consumers, is a must.”
Anusha Rahman made highlighted that investors to work together in generating e-commerce environment in Pakistan. After the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Payment System Operators and Payment System Providers, Anushais certain that the Ministry of Commerce should work along with international companies such as PayPal and Alibaba.
She further stated this Pakistan now promotes anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing policies set by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). The country was initially on the organization’s grey list, which did not permit international tech companies from investing in Pakistan.
As far as Pakistan is becoming safe for business PayPal, Amazon and eBay will be asked to start working in Pakistan.
The progression of digital business in Pakistan has been made possible by the improvement of various aspects, particularly the security situation. The government of Pakistan has demonstrated to the FATF that the country no longer breeds money launderers and terrorist fundraisers. It will be a stirring time for Pakistan as online payments have the potential to determine economic growth for a new compeers of financiers.
