The French tech company Archos has release a new phone in rugged form namely Saphir 50X. This statement needs clarification though. When it is said that it has been released, it means that it has been commissioned from the Logos Instrument, and that’s because Archos does not actually make most of its products itself.

Anyhow, Archos Saphir 50X sounds to be a new release, but it is fundamentally a downgrade from the Archos 50 Saphir released last year.

Both the Archis phones have same dimensions, i.e. 146.6 x 76 x 13 mm. Both are IP68 certified and feature 5-inch HD LCD screen with the protection of Gorilla Glass 4. The camera is also going to be the same, i.e. 13MP on the rear and 5MP on the front.

The phone is powered by Mediatek MT6737 SoC and comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage which is expandable. Additionally, ArchosSaphir 50X comes with different connectivity options including Dual SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM Radio and microUSB 2.0 port.

The only difference between the two phones is that the new one has got 4000mAh battery rather than 5000mAh. Moreover, it is a bit heavy weight, as it weighs 210g. It will be running on Android 7.0 Nougat. The price of ArchosSaphir 50X  in Pakistan on the time of availability will be Rs. 25,500.
