Most of the people still consider the Quad HD Display in order to avoid useless numbers race sacrificing processing power for little real life benefit. But Samsung is developing entirely a different technology race and is going after the next major step.

Samsung is working on 11K display, will be introduced in 2018

Recently Samsung has collaborated with 13 companies and with South Korean Government to develop an 11K mobile display with an unimaginable 2250 ppi density.  The Korean Ministry of Science, ICT has agreed to invest $26.5 million into the R&D of this new 11K display. The 2250 ppi density will allow the screen to produce VR experience without pixelization.

The project dubbed EnDK will develop this display whose prototype is likely to be ready in time for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in 2018.According to the Executive Director of Samsung Display, this could be an “over specification”, but this innovation might help the Korean industry in the future.
