Interestingly, an impressive 79 million of such displays are twice what was shipped in the same period of previous year. Wider adoption and low cost of production has made such a fast penetration of AMOLED display possible.

The market share of AMOLED screen in mobile displays has gone up to 18% for the Q3, and the major figure of 95.8% by the company shipping these is Samsung. Not very mighty, but still holding a major share, Samsung recently ships 38.5% of the total smartphone display panel market, followed by JDI which currently holds 17% market share and LG comes third with 13.8%.
