Report says fierce competition pushing LG to slash prices oh High-ends

LG cannot find an immediate rescue to fight recent competition that is why it is consistently slashing the prices on its handsets esp. the high-ends, according to a report from South Korea.The report refers to SK Telecom data, according to which average cost LG smartphone was around $150 for customers who did go for SK Telecom’s $51 level subscription plans.

When compared to the averageof Samsung, it was found to be around $355, while Apple’s iPhones, were sold at an average cost of around $735.

According to the report: “LG hasn’t had a great second quarter – its mobile division’s revenues were largely flat, operating profit was down a whopping 99.7%, and smartphone shipments decreased 3% Y-o-Y in the quarter”.
