LG continues restructuring to enhance growth in promising divisions.

LG though thrives the market with significant margin, have lately been facing some downturn in profits. For this reason, the OEM has decided to emphasize on the division that has proved more profitable in terms of sale. Currently the two very promising units consist of supplying the majority of display panels for the iPhone 6s and Television with latest solution.

In the recent restructuring LG has opted to bring more and more independence and freedom to the respect heads of its major units to boost creativity, innovation and rapid decision making. LG will now be led by thee experts, who will be watching over every aspect of the business: Jo Seong-jin, president and CEO of the home appliances division; Juno Cho, president and CEO of the mobile business; and David Jung, overall president and CFO.

Executive rearrangements are not yet over. David Jung will also serve as Corporate Business Administration Officer. Current Vice Chairman and CEO Koo Bon-joonwill be leading LG Corp – the LG Electronics parent company –although this still need more clarification. Executive Vice President Lee Sang-bong, head of the LG Energy Business Center, will get promotion as President and will simultaneously play a role of B2B Officer. Global Sales and Marketing Officer Wayne Park will soon be made Executive Vice President and Head of LG’s European Operations. Executive Vice President Brian Na will become the new head of LG’s Overseas Sales and Marketing.

All the appointments will be effective starting December 1 and the whole process will get finalized after general shareholder meeting in early 2016. Hopefully this comes well for the struggling mobile division for the Korean tech giant as well.
