Report: iPhone 7 and 7 Plus still leading US smartphone market

We got to know through Kantar Worldpanel ComTech Q1 statistics on smartphone OS data that Android is still struggling in US and it is iOS which is leading the smartphone sales in the country. But iPhone and iOS sales marked drops in Asia. On the other hand, Samsung and Android did not do well in the US.

Report iPhone 7 and 7 Plus still leading US smartphone market

According to the data, the US market was led by iOS sales that accounted for up to 36.5% of smartphone sales in the US. iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, is still at the top of the sales chart in May. However, iOS lost share in urban China in the Q1 of 2017, falling to 16.2%, which is a 3.8% decline YOY. iPhone 7 and 7 Plus sales in China made 8.5% of smartphones sold, leading over Huawei and Oppo.


Android bagged 83.4% of smartphone sales in urban China, a 4.3% increase from 2016 and augmented its share in Europe by 2.2%. It did not witness growth in the US, but there was a drib of market share of 5.9% from 2016, and is at 61.7% now.
