Reliance Jio’s Complaint against the Ad of Airtel’s “Fastest Network” dismissed by Court

It is reported that Reliance Jio’s plea against Bharti Airtel and Ookla has been rejected by a trial court in India. Ookla is the broadband speed testing company. The Reliance Jio telecomat the start of this year purported that both Airtel and Ookla are deceiving consumers with the advertisement campaign of fastest network. A year ago on the basis of data collected from consumers of last two quarters, Ookla had awarded Bharti Airtel as the fastest network in regards of internet speed based.

Reliance Jio had approached to Advertising Standards Council of India earlier to show the focal point of Airtel’s ad campaign asserting itself as officially India’s fastest network. In Reliance Jio’s appeal, it requested for the ad campaign to be shut down. When the ads came into view once again, it filed an application against its rival Bharti Airtel and the broadband speed testing company Ookla at Esplanade court Mumbai in June. It is alleged that the advertisement campaign started by Airtel is deceiving and it also challenge the speed test conducting method by Ookla.
