The Government of Punjab has decided to make three cities the Wi-Fi cities. The government has decided to provide Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore free internet. The service will be rolled out starting from the first week of June. The biggest cities of the province will get free internet at more than 200 places.

PITB has been prepping to provide free internet facility at local places. PITB has identified more than 200 places for free Wi-Fi. At local places the internet will be available in June according to PITB. Free internet will be available at Parks, Schools, Colleges, Hospitals, Universities, Metro stations, railway stations, Airport and Big markets. Chairman PITB commented on the occasion that there is dire need of this project.

Later on this project will be expanded to other cities.
