Initially they published a notification concerning the withdrawal due to huge protest and budget speech of Ayesha Ghaus that notification will be taken back.

However, the FBR did not responded to the pledge and did not issue the tax exemption for the internet. The major websites held blackout campaign for internet taxes which was latter discontinued on the request by some government officials that ensured an immediate tax exemption for internet users.

Now the actual notification, the final verdict of FBR is awaited to date but the government is holding cards to by just staying silent on the matter. There is no leak on why is this so. The government has mounted on never ending U-turn saga which is making website owners disgruntled. While we think we restartanother set of campaign as taxing internet means crippling the growing IT industry.
