Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is all set to hold WLL license auction for AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan on December 29, 2015. PTCL and LinkDotNet has qualified for the WLL auction in AJK and GB.

As per sources, spectrum is likely to be allotted at base price. There will be no delay and Auction is likely to sell on the day as per scheduled.

PTA is holding WLL license Auction at AJK and GB.

PTA has already informed the qualified Applicants via information package. PTA will sell 1900MHz and 3.5GHz bands for WLL licenses in entire three telecom regions of AJK and GB. If spectrum gets sold successfully, PTA might generate PKR. 90 million in total for 2×5 MHz in 1900MHz band and two 30 MHz unpaired lots in 3.5GHz bands. The winners are bound to give amount within 30 days of the action.

Base price for Spectrum:

2 x 5MHz from 1900MHz:

• TR-I Mirpur: Rs. 55.80 Million
• TR-2 Muzaffarabad: Rs. 11.96 Million
• TR-3 Northen Areas: Rs. 7.97 Million

30MHz from 3.5GHz

• TR-I Mirpur: Rs. 7.97 Million
• TR-2 Muzaffarabad: Rs. 3.18 Million
• TR-3 Northen Areas: Rs. 3.18 Million

Annual Spectrum Fee:

The licensee will pay annual fee to authority as following:

1900 MHz Band

• TR-I: PKR 870,000/-
• TR-2: PKR 185,000/-
• TR-3: PKR 190,000/-

3.5GHz Band

• TR-I: PKR 1,000,000/-
• TR-2: PKR 370,000/-
• TR-3: PKR 370,000/-

Provisional winners will be declared upon end of auction and they will be given written intimation within 07 days. Further within 30 days of having received 100% payment of initial Spectrum fee and license fee as per schedule given in IM, Licenses will be granted.
