PTA, Pakistan Telecom Authority, has recently published a notification to cellular operators to ban Blackberry enterprise services to enterprise users. PTA says the complaint was registered by concerned bodies and directions are based on LEAs and is based on security reasons.

PTA bans BlackBerry enterprise services for security reasons

A letter was sent out to mobile operators quoting that 90 days of prior notification should be given to BES users so that they may find alternative in case. The directive also asked that mobile operator should ensure complete eradication of BES for customers before November 30, 2015.

For Now only BES will be blocked at not the BIS. BIS is BlackBerry Internet services which works like an ISP. Every time your BlackBerry gets an email, or accesses a webpage it goes through BIS (your operator) to do so.
