The killer flagship was out of rumor mill for its software updates when recently a Reddit users asked some question to which OnePlus made honest replies.

The Nougat update is in works but the company can’t share the exact date of release. However, the company confirmed that it is “actively working” on prepping Nougat under the umbrella of more customized and frustration free experience. The update will roll out in few months.

Moreover, OnePlus also confirmed that it will start rolling out Marshmallow to OnePlus X very soon. Marshmallow will be the last major update for OnePlus X which has the Snapdragon 801. The hardware is incompatible with Nougat.

OnePlus also announced that it will not be releasing any smartwatches anytime soon neither they are looking for mobile phones based on some other OS. They are fully committed to Android and we stay with what we have decided.
