The Nokia Lumia finally reaches to its sunset time. From now onward Microsoft Lumia brand name will be used for all new devices. However, the Nokia phone brand is not completed finished, Microsoft will continue to sell current Nokia Lumia handsets and provide all types of software and customer support. Features Phone Nokia 130 will continue to be sold.
According to senior VP marketing for Phones, the re-branding is already underway with former Nokia-branded apps coming under the Microsof umbrella. In similar fashion, Nokia sites ar in the process of moving to Microsoft.
Microsoft did not disclose when the first Microsoft Lumia device will be unveiled. However, there is rumor going on first device will be launched on Christmas or on CES in Jan 2015 or MWC Feb 2015.
Microsoft’s sales and marketing strategy from its inception is to put a PC on every desktop, now they will be focusing a phone in every pocket. It seems to be getting true since 9.3 million Lumia smartphones were sold in 3rd quarter of 2014.
