Very recently it has been revealed that the main reason for plunge in Internet speed across the country is due to submarine cable fault. According to the report one of the submarine back-haul fiber optic cables that links Pakistan to rest of the world is having some issues due to which internet speed specifically for PTCL customer is not up to the par.

The details further purport that, the west bound traffic from and to is bound to get impacted, however, there still are some back-up arrangements that can counter this problem. Early reports said that more than on cable is at fault, so it will take longer than usual to fix it.

Due the increasingly growing demand for internet users, there are some serious effort required to make sure that these cables do not fault again and again. If it will happen every month, it will impact the end-user.

The private companies are doing what they could increase Bandwidth demand of the country. One may wonder if government could be able to build back-haul connectivity more redundant than what we have today.
