We have previously reported that Submarine Fault line, the IMEWE cable, has been experiencing some issue which has impacted the entire South Asia.The PTCL authority informed that currently the maintenance of the cable is under progress. This cable serves 80% of the internet cable market of Pakistan, due to which the major operators are experiencing sluggishness of internet.

The authority also informed:

“The PTCL has ensured adequate bandwidth so its customers are not affected due to this disruption.”

There are complaints being registered of slow browsing by the PTCL and Wateen customers. The breakdown happened on December 28.

The maintenance has been in process and the will take few days to restore services.
