Group chat are sometimes noisy and receiving consistent notifications might hinder tasks at hand. People feel irritated if they are interrupted that often. WhatsApp, no matter, makes your life chatty, still, worries about your comforts. That is why it offers muting chatrooms.

On Android and windows-powered phones, you can turn off notifications by hitting menu on top right and selecting Mute. Then select the period till you want the chat to mute to stop notifying for notifications.

You can also mute the group chat for particular time. Now enjoy this feature on WhatsApp for PC too. Just tap the group subject on iPhone iOS to open group chat and tap Mute. Now select the duration for which the chat is to be muted.
