  MPC Team

It has been reported that HMD Global will not be releasing the 3G version of Nokia 3310 (2017) in India. The main rationale for this decision by HMD is the lack of interest found among Indians for 3G phones.

On the other hand, the Vice President of HMD Global for India Mr. Ajey Mehta has said that the company is mainly considering to introducing the 4G featurephone for India.

He mainly gave reference to the JioPhone recently released by Reliance Jio, which is a 4G featurephone already making an impact in the Indian market. HMD is one of the few companies in the world that is not currently seeking featurephone manufacturing especially for Indian market, as the ultra-affordable market in the Sub-continent is ripe for such featurephones. Hence, through this option, HMD can enter the featurephone market for translating its investments to actual sales.
