Android like other operating System is full of bugs and errors. But thankfully, most of these are fixed through updates as soon as possible. Only some of the errors become bugs and stay for a bit longer.

Here is how to avoid a “Could not Start Messenger” Error.

Here is how to avoid a “Could not Start Messenger” Error.

There is no proper evidence on when and how this bug originated but on the Google Nexus forum the users have complained that it is since the roll out of Lollipop (2014). The notorious part is, it is just not closing down the Google messenger but also closing the Facebook Messenger, though they operate quite differently. The error is not only replicating the Nexus smartphones but it is currently being affecting the Galaxy handsets as well.

Up till now, no proper fix of bug has been reported, but there is some way to avoid it. Whenever, you are on the Facebook and Google Messenger and you are leaving these, use Home Button and not the back Button to return to the screen. It is only happening when you do this or not use Home Button.

However, the same criteria might not help if you use it for Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
