Facebook for instance has added end-to-end encryption on WhatsApp. Another major development is a Self-Destruct Message feature that is now being headed to Facebook Messenger.

This news was first published by Twitter which detailed how the service will be a part of Messenger for iOS version 68.0. The feature will tell you when to abort the message. The life could be in minutes, days, months and even years. After the expiry, the receiver could no longer see the message. It also tells the user the time when the message will disappear.

In addition to this, Facebook is also adding a secret chat support for messenger. This will not be open for regular users. This shows that with the rising popularity of privacy-oriented communication, Facebook is prepping to upgrade it apps to stay competitive.

After rolling out to iOS, it is expected that both features will soon be introduced for android and other platforms.
