Shahbaz sharif has over 2.1 M followers on twitter and 1.5 M on facebook.  Everyone has to leave the seat at some point of the time. It could be 5 years or 10 years from now.

But the social media accounts will go with him.  The new Chief Minister will have to start from scratch and will have to make a new account.

Now as we all know that General Asim Bajwa used his personal account @AsimBajwaISPR for twitter. He has over 3.05 M followers.

Now all the followers of General Asim Bajwa will go with with him as General Asif Ghafoor , the new DG ISPR has made a new twitter account which has 17 thousand followers.

Not to mention, there’s one twitter handle for ISPR Official @ ISPR official but that’s barely used as it only re-tweets the Facebook posts.

It is important that public office holders should use official social media accounts which could be usable by the other person who would be assuming the new office.

New DG ISPR is apparently making the same mistake once again, as he has setup his own Facebook page (www.facebook.com/MajGenAsifGhafoor ) instead of using official Facebook account

Conclusion:

Public offices should have official social media accounts and they should be bound to use those accounts. They should not use personal accounts for official matters
