Budget-friendly Galaxy J2 is made official

The Galaxy J series has finally come with new member dubbed J2. The Galaxy J2 was made official in Bangalore. This is the fourth invention of J series and it is also the part of “Make in India” and “Make for India” project whereby the Korean tech giant is delivering its promise for this lucrative emerging market.

It has 4.7-inch qHD Super AMOLED display. J2 runs on anExynos 3475 chip with quad-core 1.3 GHz CPU and 1GB of RAM. It also comes with modest camera of 5MP f/2.2 at the rear and 2MP f/2.4 at the front. It is powered by 2000mAh battery and runs on 5.1 Android Lollipop.

It is due to Samsung’s R&D facility is India that a smartphone has been built catering to the local demands. The feature can let you save 50% on data plan, spares 11% of the RAM, and doubles the phone standby time. Mr. AsimWarsi, Vice President, Marketing, IT & Mobile at Samsung India, praised:

Samsung Galaxy J2, our entry level smart phone, has been specially made keeping in mind the Indian consumer’s sensibilities to make 4G accessible and relevant for all. The Galaxy J2 reinforces our commitment to ‘Make for India’. Ultra Data Saving Mode, which is the key feature in the device, has been developed at our Indian R&D facilities to deliver the most cost efficient 4G device.”

The Galaxy J2 will be available for sale starting from September 21 at the price tag of INR 8,490, or about $125.
