In terms of unit it has 1/fifth of the total industry sales. There are almost 1000 companies’ worldwide selling smartphones. Samsung has 15% of the industry profits and is just behind Apple. The rest of the companies show losses or even broken during the period. Both giants occupy more than 100 percent of the entire industry profits.

The main reason for high profits is the higher price of latest iPhones which is almost $185 higher than average price of Android smartphone. The Wall Street Journal hasn’t factored in sales data from privately owned companies such as Xiaomi and Micromax. However, their sales performance is not expected to alter the profit landscape significantly.

Even if we consider it, there are plenty of reasons why the Cupertino will continue leading the market. Apple is again gearing up for record iPhone6s launch with 85-90 million units ordered to supplier.
