Samsung is not only a tech giant in mobile industry but it shines out in sector of chipsets too. Also providing silicon to other chipset makers is most profiting business of Samsung. Apple has had a history of buying CPU chipset from Samsung despite of scorching competition with it in consumer markets. The new development has been confirmed by Korean Times which states the undisputed market leader has signed a deal with Apple. The LPDDR4 RAM module which was built back then in 2013 is signed to be supplied to the Apple. This is the similar module which was deployed in LG G Flex 2. It is now becoming a norm and for this reason LG has signed up to receive all of the aforementioned module it needs from Samsung. Further, the report says that 50% of Apple devices will contain DDR4 module.

The report states:

“Under the agreement, Samsung will start providing LG Electronics with 100 percent mobile DRAM chips it needs for LG G4 smartphone, which will be unveiled in April. Also, Samsung will handle at least half of the amount that Apple needs for its new iPhone ― tentatively named iPhone 6S”

The LPDDR4 is designed on the 20nm manufacturing process and is 50% faster than the fastest LPDDR3 memory on the market. It consumes 40% less power at 1.1 volts. The data transfer is much faster at 3,200Mbps per pin which is twice the speed of what is currently produced in LPDDR3 DRAM.

The new DDR4 RAM will deploy in 70 % of Apple’s to be iPhone 7 handsets.
