Wi-Fi alliance published Home Design standard so that builders create homes which are free of Wi-Fi dead spots and provide Wi-Fi access in each spot of the house. Wi Fi alliance is a nonprofit organization which promotes Wi Fi technology and certifies Wi Fi products

There is a standard which offers seven templates which tells the number of access points a new home should have and where they should be placed.

The certification WFA1006D specifies a Brocade access point which calls a link over a CAT6a cabling which explains spatial streams.

The builders are advised to maintain less than 50% channel utilization with 35 devices per channel at the time of installation to allow the future growth

The designs are also designed to guide the builders and the people living in older homes should use the Wi Fi range extenders.
