USB 3.2 with Up To 20Gbps Speed Announced

  MPC Team

It has been only tentatively announced that USB with up to 20 gigabytes per second transfer speed will hit the markets sooner, and its version will be 3.2. This transfer speed is about double to what USB 3.1 generation was capable of.

This new USB version is still in the final drafting stage, whereas the formal announcement about its release will be made in September this year. This is when the specifications and exact transfer speed will also be revealed.

The new generation USB will only be used with the USB-C cables. This is because the A/B connectors will not have sufficient wires within the cable for carrying this much data at a time.

However, this new 3.2 version will be using multiple wires within a single cable for delivering up to 20Gbps. Moreover, if your USB-C cables can transfer 10Gbps data, then they will also be compatible with this new USB 3.2 version as well.
