Different sources have revealed that there are many unknown reasons for which the official release of Android O will be delayed. This will probably involve the ironing out of bugs and several issues. David Ruddock of Android Police stated that the implication of so far unknown reason for delay is that Android O will not be run in the upcoming Google Pixel smartphones, which are going to launch later this month, which was in turn the main expectation of the general public as well.

So the question lies when Android O will finally become official. Answering this question would be a bit tough since it is still not known that which reasons are behind the official Android O release delay. Fact of the matter is that Android O can be released any time as Google might not be inclined to inform its Android partners about possible release date of its new software update and wants to keep it as a secret till then.
