Samsung, the undisputed market leader, but greatly troubled by its major competitor Apple has jumped into the OLED business. Recent reports have also confirmed the decline in sales and shipment of Samsung throughout the world. Under such circumstances there is a dire need of exploring new avenues and for this reason Samsung has planned to invest $3.6 billion in the production of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels for consumer electronic products.
The Samsung aims to provide both small-sized as well as medium-sized OLED panels meant for smartphones and tablets. The investment is spread out over a period of three years from 2015 to 2017. There is highly likely that Samsung invest this formula on its curved edged devices specially Note Edge and one Variant of upcoming Galaxy S line up.
