Samsung might make OLED screens for 2018 iPhone handsets

Here is some interesting news for those who love to hear about something different. According to reports, Apple may have just inked a contract with Samsung Display to purchase OLED panels for the iPhone 9 that is likely to hit the shelves in 2018. As per the buzz, we’ll see the release of the iPhone 7S, iPhone 7S Plus and iPhone 8 this year. The latter is the only one to have an OLED display.

The iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus are expected to continue with LCD displays as those on earlier iPhones. The new leak however indicates that all versions of the iPhone 2018 will feature OLED screens though.

According to this report, there will be 5.28-inch and 6.46-inch display sizes. In addition, we learnt that Samsung Display will supply shipments of 180 million units. Regardless of what Apple calls the iPhone range in 2017, at the moment we are expecting to see 3 great smartphones this year but just one of them will pack OELD display.
